Procaffeinating

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Memorial Day weekend. It's sunny and getting hot here in the good ol' SC. Summer is definitely on it's way! I've been working on digital pages again, specifically pages of my grandson Nolan's 1st birthday party. It was circus themed and my daughter outdid herself with all the decorations. I will share those pages once they are complete. Meanwhile, I switched gears a little and created this cute little coffee sign.

I purchased most of the elements on this sign from The Lily Pad and they are from the Bold & Strong kit created by ValĂ©ria Piemonte at Little Butterfly Wings.

Do you love coffee? I love coffee no matter the time of year, even on the hottest Summer days. I have a little corner in my kitchen where I keep my two coffee machines, yes, you read that right, my two coffee machines. lol One is a regular 10 cup coffee maker and the other is a single cup coffee maker. I told you I love coffee :) I have some coffee signs in that corner already, but am going to print this one off and add it. I always joke with my friends who like Starbucks, to me it's overpriced. I'm more of a gas station coffee kinda girl, but even better, I make a whole pot at home and enjoy it all day on the weekends :)

I hope you enjoy the rest of this long weekend. I'm going to try and finish up Nolan's birthday pages. Until next time...

Chipboard Mermaid Transformed

Hey there crafty friends! I'm back to share a cute little chipboard mermaid that I want to use on a scrapbook page. The mermaid is from Creative Embellishments and I used gel pens to add shimmery color to her.

I want to add some more bling to her before she goes on my page, but I just wanted to share how simple it is to transform the plain chipboard into a cute embellishment. This is what they look like fresh out of the packaging.

Cute, huh? My love of mermaids started a couple of years ago when I went on a cruise to Cozumel. Before the cruise, we visited a friend in Tarpon Springs, Florida, where there is a mermaid statue and just about everywhere you look are mermaids in art, jewelry, clothing, etc. We saw more mermaids in Cozumel and I just fell in love with their mystical powers.
Do you love mermaids, too? I have a different set of chipboard mermaids for sale in my Etsy store HERE and you can also find mermaid themed scrapbook paper HERE or an ocean themed mixed media kit that includes a chipboard mermaid HERE.

I'll be back soon with more projects. Until next time...

Friends Are Like Angels

Hello again artsy friends! Today I want to share a digital scrapbook page I created a while back. I love several layers on a traditional paper and embellishments scrapbook page, so why not on a digital one, too! The background reminds me of ship-lap, which is all the rage in country decor lately. I stacked other patterned papers in the center and added a little stitching.

The sentiment "friends are like angels without wings" is a typed font on the distressed and torn notebook paper piece. I added the ribbon with bows to the flowers to create the stems.
I think this would be perfect for a card or even print it out and frame it for a home decor piece.
I love creating digitally :)

I'll be back soon to share more creations. Until next time...

Butterfly & Peacock Feathers

Hey there crafty friends! Today I'm sharing two cards that I made over the weekend. The first one is my mom's Mother's Day card (I couldn't share it before now!). The second is a card I made using a beautiful peacock feathers tissue paper and a butterfly die cut.

The base for my mom's Mother's Day card is Stampin' Up! Old Olive cardstock. The second layer is an old piece of Stampin' Up! decorative paper that's I've had in my stash for years.

The third layer is a paper doily, then a set of flowers with swirly die cut leaves, a butterfly punched from dark brown cardstock and run through an embossing folder. The edges of the butterfly are dusted with Fine German Glass Glitter (you can find it in my Etsy store HERE) and the center is a metal jewelry finding.

The finishing touch is a tag with handwritten "Happy Mother's Day" and finished off with a crinkle seam binding ribbon.

The second card starts with a Teal cardstock base, then a layer of white cardstock that has a piece of peacock feathers printed tissue paper glued to it. I sewed around the perimeter of this piece in a haphazard fashion.

The butterfly is a two step die cut, first the solid was cut from vintage book page and the top layer was cut from a red decorative paper.

Under the butterfly is a Creative Embellishments chipboard swirl that is painted blue with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Copper. The Metallic Lustre was also rubbed on the peacock feather tissue paper.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday! I spent the day just relaxing :)

That's all from me today. Until next time...
