Starfish Treasures

Hey there friends! I can't believe we are almost at the end of January already! Time please slow down! I spent a little time this past weekend working with wire and beads again, this time to create another cute starfish.

It is about 7 inches wide and is full of beads in blue tones, a piece of sea glass in the center and the word "treasure" spelled out with alphabet beads.

The beads are a mixture of ceramic, glass, shell, acrylic and stone.

Lots and lots of beautiful beads! There is also a beaded hanger at the top.

I've been asked if I sell my creations and the answer is yes! This cutie is going in the Pickled Tink Crafts Etsy shop :) Go check it out and all the other items I have for sale!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to see you again soon!
Until next time...

My One Word for 2017

Hey there friends! Well, the work week is almost over and it's going to be a three day weekend for me! I didn't realize that until today when some of my coworkers were talking, lol.  I am really hoping the weather is nice so I can get out in the Art House and do some much needed cleaning and organizing. The other day I was looking at the blog to see what updates or changes should be made for the New Year and noticed I haven't made or posted anything about My One Word for 2017. So I created this digital art piece for my word.

The concept behind My One Word is instead of making a New Year's resolution, you choose one word as your mantra to live by for the year. This year my word is Save. I thought about this for a while and kept coming back to this word. The first thing that comes to mind is to save money. I am horrible about spending a few dollars here and there, which adds up. I am going to be more conscientious about my spending habits. I also need to save time, energy, effort, resources, etc.  So I will spend 2017 trying to save. Have you chosen your word yet? If so, leave a comment and share what your word is and why you chose it!

That's all from me tonight. I hope you'll come back for a visit again soon! Until next time...

Come Fly With Me

Hello friends! Hope your Monday was a good one. As I mentioned in my last couple of posts, I have been creating digital art pages lately. It's been too cold to go out to the Art House to create mixed media projects. I do have heaters, but there is so much clutter out there, I don't want to catch it all on fire! lol Once the weather gets warmer, I'll take on the task of taking everything out and rearranging/organizing it, so I can make stuff again. :)  But for now, here is another digital art page I made

The subject is, of course, my beautiful granddaughter Elizabeth. Most of the elements I used are from Aspen Autumn Art Dolls & Closet found at The Lily Pad. I love this art doll! I layered two of the dresses by stacking them and then making the one on top opaque to 50%. It gave the plain blue dress a little texture and pattern. The little hearts behind the art doll are from Hint at it Love brushes. These will be a lot for Valentine's pages.

That's all from me tonight. I'll be back soon with more projects.
Until then...

She; Bold, Brave One

Hey crafty friends! I hope the first full week of 2017 has been good to you! With a very busy week at work, I sort of laid low this weekend. I did make one bracelet using some fiber yarns that I found last weekend at a thrift store. I also created several digital art/scrapbook pages and want to share one of them with you today.

I purchased a couple of new digital kits from The Lilypad, one of which I used on this page. The art doll was created by Rebecca McMeen and is called Finn Art Dolls & Her Closet. I love this set!! The background and other elements are some that I purchased a while back from, but I don't think they are available any longer.

As I was going through my digital downloads, I noticed that my files were really jumbled and not in any real kind of order. I straightened them out and streamlined them somewhat, but still not as nice and tidy as I want. It got me thinking, is there a better way to organize digital files? I have been keeping them in files according to online store, then by the designer, then by the kit name, but some of those kits have a lot of sub-folders. I hope this is making sense, lol. Anyway, is there an easier, more streamline way of keeping digital collections filed? If you have a great system, please share!

Well, being that it's Sunday evening, I better get stuff ready to start the new work week. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Please leave a comment to let me know what you've been up to or to just say hi! :)

Until next time....

Sweet Girls

Happy New Year! I hope 2017 has started off great for you so far! I was so blessed to have spent the holidays with family and friends and am looking forward to a wonderful year! I've been working on some digital scrapbook pages with my granddaughter Elizabeth as the focal point :)

My sweet girl is growing up way too fast, so I need to try and capture all those cute and sweet moments. This first page includes a picture that shows her sweet, but almost serious side.

The picture on this page is of her and one of my Mom's dogs, Dora, which Elizabeth absolutely adores. Look at those sweet faces!!

Over the weekend, I got to spend some time with my bestest friend Kristie and she showed me some of her digital design work that she creates using apps on an iPad Pro. Oh boy, I need one now! Hopefully I can get one soon :)

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back again soon with more creations :)
Until next time...
