Family Trees

Hey there crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and looking forward to a great New Year! In the last post, I mentioned some gifts that I made for my daughters for Christmas. I've had the idea in my head for a while to make them each a family tree, like the one I created last year. I was originally going to make them with paper and little wooden hearts, but because I have been doing so much with wire wrapping, I thought that would look cute. I was right!  The first one is Amber's.

Here is a close-up of how the wire is twisted to make the limbs with letter beads to spell out their names.

This one is Mariah's. The wood pieces are from Walnut Hollow and the wire is a combination of regular jewelry wire and memory wire.

And I'm proud to announce that they loved them!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back soon to share more creations!
Until next time...

Wonderful Family Christmas!!

Merry Christmas! I know I'm a day late, but the last few days have been a whirlwind of wrapping gifts, preparing food, then unwrapping gifts and eating lots of food! Spending Christmas time with my family is always amazing! I started working on some digital scrapbook pages a couple of weeks ago using pictures that my girls posted on Facebook and Instagram of my sweet grands. Today, I am sharing some of those digital pages :)

Nolan is such a little ham!
My sweet angel Elizabeth

Oh how I love these babies! I am so blessed that we got to spend time on Christmas Eve with each other!
Most of the digital elements I used came from The Lily Pad.
I have more digital pages done, as well as some wire wrapping projects that I gave as Christmas presents, so I will share those soon.
I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to the New Year!
Until next time....

New Christmas Ornament Design

Hello crafty friends! Christmas is fast approaching! Are you ready? I'm really not, but it's coming anyway lol. I did manage to create a Christmas ornament, and not with paper this time. My obsession with wire wrapping continues!
I created this ornament (actually two) for a friend of mine to give to her daughters. They are personalized with the girls names and I also added the year.

Pictured is one of the ornaments hanging on her Christmas tree. And her girls loved them! To create the base, I used 18 gauge wire and wrapped it around a glass that was about 4 1/2 inches wide, attaching where the wire meets with a smaller piece of wire, then curled the ends.  I created the tree shape with each end of the trunk of the tree wrapped around the frame, then added green beads around the tree with 24 gauge wire. The garland is red beads strung on wire and wrapped back and forth on the tree. The outside of the frame is wire wrapped with silver and clear beads added. The name on the left is letter beads with red, green and clear beads strung on wire, with each end curled and attached to the frame with thin wire. The year is metal stamped into a small metal tag, also strung on wire with ends curled and attached with thin wire.
I love how they turned out so much that I made each one of my girls one!
This past Saturday, we had a Christmas family reunion on my Dad's side of the family. It was so great catching up with aunts, uncles and cousins. There was a lot of food, but great fellowship.
Yesterday, I finally got my Christmas tree up. I will share pictures soon :)
That's all from me today. Until next time...
