I'm Really a Mermaid

Hello again friends! I'm back today to share something special I've been working on for a couple of weeks. So happy it's finally finished and love how it turned out!
It's a 7Gypsies 12x12 Shadow Box Insert that I attached to a canvas and decorated with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Graphic 45 papers and other embellishments that I made.

See, my obsession for mermaids continues :) I began by painting the shadow box insert and the canvas using the Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Kit called Peeled Paint and also added some turquoise and aqua blue acrylic paint as well until I achieved the look I wanted.

Before the shadow box insert was adhered to the canvas, I added all the papers, canvas fabric and burlap behind each "window".  I adore the papers in the Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea collection and the By the Sea collection. You can find them both in the Pickled Tink Crafts Etsy store. Once everything was in place, I glued the insert to the canvas with Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue.

Then the real fun began! Each "window" was decorated with elements from the two paper collections, some sea shells I made from Makin's Clay and other ocean themed embellishments. The mermaid was fussy cut and then I added several layers of UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) to make her sturdy. I also adhered the Scrabble letters spelling out "SEA" and the sand dollar to the frame.

Along the bottom "windows", I added May Arts ribbon, sea shells, sea glass, seed beads, micro-beads, flowers, and a chipboard flourish. The last little touch is the Voyage sign that is adhered to a piece of canvas fabric with frayed edges.

Ta-da!! I really love how it turned out :) Do you love it, too? I hope so!

I've also been busy making different kinds of jewelry. After watching many YouTube videos, I finally made a tree of life pendant. Yep, it's my latest craft obsession, lol. I've made three so far and have a a couple of orders for pendants and even earrings! I watched other videos on wire wrapping and am planning on trying so many different designs. I'll share what I make soon.
That's all from me today. Until next time...
Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!
