Hey there crafty friends!! Today I am sharing My One Word for 2016 project that I created for Scrap n' Art Magazine. The My One Word campaign is a sort of a New Year's Resolution where you choose one word to live by for the year. My One Word is Listen. I chose this word because I think it's important to remember to listen to others, listen to your heart, listen to nature, listen to music, just listen instead of talking. If you concentrate on listening to the world around you, I think you become less self absorbed and that's very important!!

I created this on a 6x6" canvas that is 1" deep. I love this size canvas!! I used lots of products on this piece. I created the texture with crumpled tissue paper, then added lots of chipboard pieces, metals like the key, music note and decorative corner piece, the cork birdhouse, paper flowers and wooden hearts. Everything go a good coat of gesso before adding Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Plain Jane sprays. The letters are wooden and were painted with paints, sprayed with Glimmer Mists and distressed. There's also the butterfly and small bee rub-ons added. The final touch is bronze micro beads.

This canvas is the same size as last year's My One Word project "Focus". I plan on hanging these in the Art House soon. I am moving things around in there again, so I will share pics as soon as it's all done and everything is clean :)

This week is going to be busy because I'm packing stuff up to head to Tennessee for a crop to spend the whole weekend with my sweet friends Kristie, Kathy and Janet!! I can't wait!!! I'm trying not to pack too much, just enough to work on a few pieces that I started and never finished. Kristie is teaching two classes and I want to take those, too :) I'll share pics of all our creations next week.
And don't forget to play along this weekend for the Sunny Day Crafting photo inspiration challenge!! See you again real soon!!
Until next time...

Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!
