Beautiful Couple

Hey there crafty friends! I'm back today to share one of my most favorite layouts. This was a project created for the October issue of Scrap n' Art using a Bird's of a Feather kit

I love the papers and embellishments in this kit! So bright and happy :) The picture is of my daughter Mariah and her husband TC. I double matted the picture using papers from the kit and added all the wonderful embellishments. The blue flower on the botton left corner of the picture is one that I made using Spellbinders die cuts and Art Anthology color sprays. Love the burlap doily and butterflies from the kit.

Here is a close-up of some of the embellishments. I like tucking things in behind a larger embellishmets, having them peeking out, like the heart and smaller flowers behind the large flower.

I need to put this layout in a frame :) I actually need to put a lot of my layouts in frames! I don't think half of them would fit in a book, because most of them are bulky with lots of embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll share some more projects with you soon! Until next time...

Another Awesome Sketch!

Hope you had a very Happy Easter!! We had a pretty low key day. Poor Dan had to work, so I cooked the ham and sides dishes. I have no problem saying he's a better cook than I am, lol, but I think I did a pretty good job :)

Today I'm sharing a layout I created using the sketch from November's issue of Scrap n' Art. This picture is of my grandson Grayson. He loves sticks and rocks and in this picture, he is carrying a stick that's almost as tall as he is!

I used lots of different materials for the layers on this page. There are of course patterned papers, but there is also a piece of denim and a burlap woven ribbon. I also sewed in some places and used washi tape.

I received some new products from Graphic 45, Creative Embellishments and Petaloo for the Pickled Tink Crafts webstore. I'll be putting some awesome kits together that are beach/ocean themed, just in time for your summer projects! I also got some new beads in to make some more memory wire bracelets, just need to carve out some time to put them together.

I'll be back soon to share more. Until then...

Some Bunny Loves You

Hey there! I am back today and so excited to share my project for Sunny Day Crafting's Challenge 3!! Here is this week's inspiration picture.

Isn't that the cutest little bunny? That's what I used as the focal point for my card :)

The papers I used are from Maja Design and I also used a paper doily cut in half. I found a bunny template online and traced it on the pink paper, then embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The edges were inked to give it some pop. I finished it off with the sweet pink bow and a cute stamped tag that says "some bunny loves you".
Have you played along with the challenges yet? We would love for you to join us and don't forget to link up your projects!
I'll be back soon with more artsy goodness!!
Until next time...

Collage Background with Robin's Nest Papers

Hello crafty friends!! It's spring weather here in the south, the flowers are blooming, birds are singing, but the pollen is killer! We had a pretty mild winter, so I hope spring sticks around a while and the scorching summer doesn't move in too fast.
Today I'm sharing a video that I made for Scrap n' Art back in September using some awesome papers from Robin's Nest. I show you how to create a collage background you can use for scrapbook pages, cards or cut it apart and make tags or other embellishments.

I used the finished collage for a heritage scrapbook page. The picture is of my Dad's paternal Grandmother, Florence Caroline (2nd from the left), her sisters and their mother, which is my Great, Great Grandmother (seated).

You can see more videos from the other talented designers on the Scrap n' Art YouTube channel HERE. Be sure to follow us!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back soon to share more projects.
Until next time...

I Scream, You Scream! We All Scream For Ice Cream!!

Hello there! I'm so happy you've dropped by today! I have something fun and happy to share with you :) This week is Challenge 2 of the Sunny Day Crafting Blog's challenge!!! Here is the card I created for the challenge.

I've had these Stampin' Up! papers in my stash for a while now, just never had the right project in mind for them. Isn't it happy? The ice cream cone is created using different Spellbinders die cuts, as well as the sentiment. I was searching for the perfect ribbon to use, when I saw the curling ribbon in one of my ribbon baskets. Perfect for a birthday card!!! To create the sprinkles, I used an assortment of seed beads, bugle beads and micro beads.
Go check out all the other projects on the Sunny Day Crafting Blog and be sure to link up your creations, too!
I hope you are inspired by my card to do a little creating of your own. I'll be back soon to share some more craftiness with you!
Until next time...

Focus and Listen

Hello again crafty friends! I'm back today to share this art journal cover that I created using Canvas Corp products for the December issue of Scrap n' Art online magazine. I started by covering the journal cover with papers, paint and stamps.

The dress form is a Tim Holtz die cut from chipboard that I painted, stamped and dressed with gauze, lace, ribbon and canvas petal pieces. Most of the Canvas Corp items I used were from a sampler pack that was full of ephemera papers, burlap remnants and other embellishments. The title "Focus and Listen" are my one word from last year and this year. I thought that fitting :)

I love layers and there are a lot of yummy layers on this project. I'm really pleased with how this turned out :)

That's it for me today. I'll be back soon with more!
Until next time...
