I Love Teacups

I'm not sure where my love of teacups comes from, but there's just something about a cute little floral teacup :) So my teacup obsession love spills over into my paper crafting. Imagine my excitement when I received the papers from Blue Fern Studios that had pretty floral teacups on them. I did a tutorial on this card in June's issue of Scrap n' Art magazine. Here's a quick run down of how I made it.

I used fussy cut the teacup from the Montage Calling Cards paper. The sweet fairy image was cut from the Mercantile paper.

The butterfly is the  Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley die cut from a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Creative Sheets and covered with white Fun Flock. The frame around the butterfly was die cut from the same 3D Foam Creative Sheet with  Spellbinders®  Classic Scallop Circles Lg and then added Art Ingredients Mica Powder in Teal.

If you haven't noticed  from looking at most of the cards I make, I love to include a pretty bow. Here's a tip: custom color white ribbon by using color sprays to color coordinate with your project. I think it's a nice finishing touch.

The weather has really cooled off here in SC and it's officially fall!! I bought some stuff to make some more fun fall wreaths and I'll share those soon.
I've also got a new kit in the Pickled Tink Crafts store and bought some stuff to make more. Go check out everything available :) www.pickledtinkcrafts.weebly.com

W is for Willow

One of the girls in my office is pregnant with her first baby, a girl she is naming Willow. I've been wanting to get back into making sweet personalized baby decor again, so this was my chance. Her nursery is white, gray and lavender with elephants. I just got a a bunch of paper from Maja Designs and included were baby themed papers with elephants!! How lucky was that? I decided to just make a single initial banner piece, mainly because I didn't have all the same style chipboard letters to spell out the whole name. Bummer. But look how cute the one banner piece turned out!!!

I used a chipboard banner piece from a bulk pack that I got to include in some of the Pickled Tink Crafts store kits. They are the perfect size to created these initial banners :) I covered the banner piece with the sweet baby elephant paper. Along the edges of the banner piece I glued some gray scalloped edge lace. Next, I glued a coordinating paper to a piece of chipboard and cut it with a Spellbinders scallop circle die cut. The chipboard letter was painted white and glued to the scallop circle and then glued to the base. Eyelets were added to the holes at the top of the base to make it sturdier. For the ribbon hanger, I dyed the seam binding with Art Anthology Colorations spray and tied it on each side in a messy double bow that I also added some white tulle to.
I can't wait to give it to the mommy-to-be at the baby shower we're throwing her at the office. I really hope she likes it :)

I've been buying stuff to create new kits for the store :) Can't wait to get them all put together and take pics. I'll be finishing up on those tomorrow and will share a link to the store asap!!

Until then...

Fall is in the Air

It's getting cooler here in SC, for the time being anyway. This morning was so nice, but tomorrow will probably be hot again. We have weirdo weather here! I can tell Fall is getting very close because people are asking me to make wreaths again. This is my first wreath of the season and I really like it :)

The base is a grapevine wreath that I added burlap to and then loaded it down with flowers, berries and pumpkins. The A was painted with Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint. The orange chevron bow finishes it off :) The girl I made it for loved it!

I have exciting news about Pickled Tink Crafts online store! It will be featured in the October issue of Scrap n' Art magazine!! I am so excited and can't wait to see what the other designers created with the kit I sent each of them. I'm also working on ideas for new scrapbook and mixed media kits and will update you on those soon :)

Until next time...

Love My Sweet Girl!

One of the coolest things about being a design team member of Scrap n' Art Online Magazine is the wide range of products we get to work play with every month. And one of my favorites is the digital products from GottaPixel. You can get a free digital kit each month if you subscribe to the magazine. I made these two layouts with the kit from May.

The kit is very girly with fun papers and embellishments. I created the first layout with flowers and used a picture if Elizabeth and her rainbow bear from Build-a-Bear.

The second layout is one of my favorites! Love how the colors in our clothing matches the colors of the papers and embellishments :) That is my sweet girl!! I can't believe she will be 4 years old this Sunday. Time sure does fly!

I'm working on more kits for the store :) I have so much fun putting them together.

That's all from me tonight. I'll be back soon with more projects :) Until then....

Rusty and Chippy

I love rusty metal and chippy paint and weathered wood. I was in rusty, chippy, weathered heaven when I went to a crop back in July held at a bed and breakfast. Look at these...

LOVE this rusty metal siding!!

Only Mother Nature can create wonderful, beautiful chippy paint!!

Call me crazy, but I would love an accent wall
in my living room or bedroom just like this!

I really want to print these images on 12x12 paper and use them in my scrapbooking. Wouldn't they make awesome background papers?!

I tend to bring my rusty and chippy obsession into my crafting, too. I adore crackle paste and love to distress the edges of all the papers. I bought some rusty metal bells and stars a while back and will be using them in some Christmas crafts soon. Do you like the distressed, rusty and chippy look? or are you more of a clean lines kinda crafter?

I've been busy putting together some more awesome kits for the Pickled Tink Crafts online store!! Go check out the newest kit that I just added today. It's called Jack & Jill and is packed full of awesomeness!! Here's a peek at the embellishments that are in the kit.

That's all from me tonight. I'll be back soon with some projects. Until then...
