Sneak Peek

The countdown for the opening of my website is on! I wanted to give you a sneak peek at one of the items I've put together to sell. This is a mixed media kit and is packed full of awesome items!

Some things are new, some are old, some are made by me :) I have accumulated tons of paper crafting supplies for many years and can't possibly use it all, so I thought what a wonderful way to share by making kits with what I have so others can put it to good use. I'm also trying to come up with cute ways to package everything. I know how excited I get when I make a purchase and it comes in great packaging, so I want my customers to feel that, too.
I am really excited to announce also that I will be carrying Art Anthology products as well as May Arts ribbon and I'm working with a few more big name brand companies. I've also found some vintage trim and applique pieces that I will add as well. Sunday, March 1st is the opening day, so be on the lookout for all the details!!
Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back soon!
Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!

Art Anthology Art Journal Page

I recently submitted projects to Art Anthology in hopes of being chosen for the "Dream Team" design team, but I didn't make the cut. I was kinda bummed that I didn't make it, but realize that it would have been a big challenge with my work schedule, magazine projects and all the work there is to do for my website, not to mention when in the world would I squeeze housework in there, lol. The girls that were chosen are amazing artists and I congratulate them! One of the projects that I submitted is this art journal page.

I made the mannequin with wings a couple of weeks ago with another project in mind, but it seemed perfect for this once I started the background.

I needed a quote, so I went to my go to place, Pinterest :) Love this quote!! I typed it on the computer and printed it on cardstock then I painted the whole page with Art Anthology Viridian Sorbet paint. Each word was cut out and Gesso applied to the edges. I used matte gel medium to adhere the words and the mannequin and after dry I outlined everything with a brown Faber-Castell big brush marker to create a shadow.

I submitted two other projects and I'll share those soon. Things have been kinda crazy around here lately. Dakota and I have both been sick on and off since Christmas and we both have a horrible cough, but are on meds and hope to be well soon. I also celebrated (well I didn't really celebrate, lol) my 49th birthday or like I told people at work, my 29th anniversary of my 20th birthday :) I had planned to visit my bestest friend Kristie in Virginia this weekend, but the weather there is bad and I'm still not 100% healthy, so we've postponed for a couple of weeks. I really miss her!! I'm also still working on getting things ready for my website to go live on March 1st. A lot of product is starting to arrive and I am so excited to announce that I will be offering May Arts ribbon and Art Anthology products!! I'll be sharing all the details about the website very soon!!
That's all from me tonight. Until next time...

It's Love Week!

Valentine's Day is just 2 days away and I haven't gotten anything for any of my sweet Valentines! I better get on the ball lol. I did download an image today to create Dan's Valentine's card though. We aren't big holiday celebration people around here except for Christmas. I don't expect a big romantic night out or roses or expensive gifts. A sweet card and a small gift is fine with me! Here is the image I am using for his card :)

We LOVE pink flamingos and when I saw this I knew it was perfect!! I'm not really going to add much to it as it's great just like it is :)

I can finally share a couple more projects that I created for Scrap 'n Art magazine. These projects were in the November, 2014 issue. This first one is my favorite!! When I went on my cruise to Cozumel in September, I snapped this picture of one of the girls in our group walking on the beach. She looked like she was in pure heaven! Click on the pics to take you to the article.

This project is in the Creative Embellishments article. I loved working with the Creative Embellishments pieces that I received and the one I used here was perfect for a beach page!

I created the sand dollar with the quote in My Digital Studio, printed it and cut it out. It looks almost real! I just really love how everything just all came together to make this page!!

This next project was also made using Creative Embellishments, this time with the butterfly cutouts. How awesome are they?!

I have always loved the insect specimen samples, especially the ones with butterflies. What I don't like about them is the fact that the insect had to die to create the specimen. But no butterflies were harmed in the one! I painted each butterfly a different color and mounted them on pattern paper and netting. The numbers are also from Creative Embellishments.

To mimic the real deal of a butterfly specimen, I inserted a pin in each butterfly to look like that's how they are "mounted". I am really pleased with how this turned out :)

I have been ordering lots of goodies to put on my website and they are starting to arrive!! I get so excited every time I open a box! So far I have May Arts ribbon and some beautiful trims and I'm working on putting together embellishment kits for mixed media, card making or scrapbooking. I've also made some jewelry using a mix of new and vintage beads. I'm working on getting many more craft items including pattern papers, paints and sprays and even some cute little stamps! I can't wait to share my website details with you, so stay tuned!
That's all from me tonight. Until next time...

So Watcha Think?

Finally got my first embellishment kit put together for the Pickled Tink Crafts webstore!!! I thought I would share a peek of it to give you an idea of what I will be selling.

I have accumulated so many papers, embellishments, trim, etc. for many years and could never use it all by myself. So, why not share it, right? I want to keep the kits reasonably priced, but packed full of goodies. Each kit will be different, no two exactly the same. There will be vintage items mixed with new, manufactured items mixed with handmade. This is a sampling of the handmade items I created for this kit.

tags, flowers, butterfly and ruffled sheet music all handmade by me :)

I am also working on getting some awesome products from leading crafting companies to offer as well. This is truly something I have dreamed of doing for a long time, but was too scared to do it. I have gotten so much encouragement from my family and friends and I could not thank them enough for that!!
Tomorrow I will share a couple of projects that I made for Scrap 'n Art magazine :) There are some changes happening over at Scrap 'n Art and lots of fun things are coming up soon! This month marks the 7th anniversary of the magazine and we are celebrating by doing a give away! Go check it out HERE on our Facebook page :)
Come back and see me tomorrow :) Until then...Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!

Custom Eye Charts

I ran across the website www.eyechartmaker.com a while back and played around with it for a bit. This is one thing I made :)

Cute, huh?! I made one for my granddaughter and my grandson, too, but because they contain their full names, I didn't want to put them out on the web :) Go check out the website and play around and see what you can create!!
I've been really busy making items for my website that I hope to have go live on March 1!! Really, really excited about all the items I have to share, so stay tuned!! I've also been busy with Scrap 'n Art projects and will share some sneak peeks soon :)
Until next time...
