My One Word for 2015

Have you heard about the trend over the last few years to choose an inspirational or motivational word and apply that word to your daily living? Instead of making a bunch of New Year's resolutions and breaking most of them before the end of January, choose one word that will motivate you, inspire you, encourage you. For 2015, I chose the word

I tend to be a procrastinator, to waste time day dreaming, to jump from one project to the next without finishing any of them. I think that my word FOCUS will help me in so many aspects of my life. I need to FOCUS more on my family. I need to FOCUS on completing those unfinished projects. I need to FOCUS on what's important and not on things that don't benefit me or my family. So, when I feel stressed or overwhelmed. I need to learn to redirect and FOCUS on something else.
I created the pretty picture with my word in My Digital Studio and am putting it in my sidebar as a gentle reminder :) Do you have your one word yet? Please share!! Do you need help choosing a word? Check out the website MyOneWord.

I am wishing you all a very Happy New Year! May 2015 be the best year yet! I'll be FOCUSING on making it just that!!
Until next time....
Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!

More Digital Scrapbook Pages

Yesterday I shared some digital pages I've been making and promised more for today. I'm feeling on the mend since going to the doctor and starting on meds. I thought I had the flu, but it's only an upper respiratory infection. Well, that's bad enough I think, lol. Anyway, here are a few more pages that I created in My Digital Studio using mostly freebies from Digital Crea.

The background and presents are from Lissa's Christmas Gift and the elf girl is from Angi Designs Christmas Gift

I used lots of elements from Florju Designs' Plaisir d'offrir (mini)

This is a premade page from Love Crea Designs' Angelic Christmas

This page has paper and elements from Angi Designs Christmas Gift
All of the pictures are from this Christmas season. I love all of these pages!! The last one was especially fun to build from scratch (pun intended, lol) Baking cookies has been a tradition for my oldest daughter Amber and my Mom. When Amber was a teenager, she wanted to give cookies as her gift to family members and my Mom helped her. This year, Mom invited me, my other daughter Mariah and my brother's girlfriend Lesli to help. We had so much fun together! Do you have a family tradition for preparation of Christmas?

I am able to share some projects from past Scrap 'n Art Magazine editions, so in the next few days, I will share them :)

Until then...

Scrapbooking Christmas Digitally

I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas! We had an awesome family gathering on Christmas Eve at my house and then again for breakfast at my parent's house on Christmas Day. Then sickness found it's way to almost the whole family. It stinks to be sick at Christmas!! I spent a lot of time in the bed or laying on the couch the last few days and to keep from being totally board out of my gourd, I played around on My Digital Studio. Here are a few things I created using freebies from Digital Crea

This is a complete pre-made page, you just add your picture.
Aliya Charming&Magic

This page was made with JM Creations Christmas Wishes
This is another compete pre-made page by Florj Plaisir d'offrir (mini)
I love all these freebies!! I love creating pages from scratch, but the pre-made pages make it so easy to create a beautiful page by just adding your own pictures. I'll share the other pages I've created tomorrow. Until then...

Take Me to the Sea Wreath and Merry Fishy Christmas Tree

Today, I'm sharing a couple of things I've made recently. I've been so busy filling orders, mostly floral design work, that I've neglected my little corner of the blogosphere. I didn't mean to be gone so long, time just got away from me! And now it's Christmas, YIKES!! How time goes faster and faster the older you get. Anyway, here are two of the floral items I made. Someone asked me to make a beach themed wreath for a Christmas gift and I was so excited to create this!!

Isn't it so happy and beachy?! Makes me wish I was near the ocean :) I purchased everything except the net from Carolina Pottery.

I love the bow I made, too. I saw bows made with a few different styles of ribbon at Carolina Pottery a few months ago and just love them. The burlap was a little too thick to make the bow with all three ribbons as one bow, so I made the brown open weave mesh bow first and then made the blue and green bow as a double bow and then layered them on top of the mesh one.

The second thing I made was this Merry Fishy Christmas Tree that I did for my granddaughter Elizabeth. I bought the little purple tinsel wreath last year after Christmas on clearance. It's been sitting on a shelf waiting patiently to be made into something wonderful! I think it became just that :)

I started by adding aqua blue mesh from top to bottom and then added the cute colorful fish. Aren't they fun?!

For the tree topper, I made a funky bow with aqua blue mesh cut into tubes and pink mesh tubing, then stuck a seashell spray in the top. The seashell spray also has this cute seahorse and some pearls and white sparkly "seaweed" in it. I used the same seashell spray in the beach wreath :)

Elizabeth loves her new tree and she put it in her bedroom :)

I've been really busy making projects for Scrap 'n Art magazine and getting ready for Christmas. I will share magazine sneak peaks as soon as I can. Until next time... I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!

Lighted Christmas Arrangements

I found these cute little lighted gift boxes from Carolina Pottery and they had some of them decorated with cute little elves and sparkly floral decorations. I had to make some of these!

I made two of them for my Mom to give as gifts to her friends and I loved them so much, I made one for myself :) Here is one of them. Isn't it adorable?!!

I love these elves. Their little faces remind me of the Rice Krispy elves :)

I created triple bows for all of them using a black and white harlequin ribbon, a funky polka dot red, green and white ribbon and a green and blue striped ribbon and also added white mesh tubing to it. I first saw the multi-ribbon bows at Carolina Pottery and I love the look of them.
Tomorrow is a full day of Christmas festivities with a family reunion and also my office Christmas party. I will try to squeeze in some time to share this year's Christmas tree :)
Until then....

It's a Girl Wreath

A girl I work with is having a baby girl and asked me to make a wreath for the hospital door and then for home. She showed me pictures of a few different ones that she liked and I used elements from each to create this wreath.

The base is a pink work wreath form and I used 8" wide plain burlap ribbon first and then added the 2 1/2" pink polka dot and pink chevron ribbons zig-zagged through the wreath. I also added loops of white sparkly mesh tubing and to finish it off, the banners "It's A Girl" that another co-worker embroidered on stiff sparkly white felt that I cut out in the banner shapes and attached with pink polka dot ribbon.

I think it turned out awesome and she loved it!!
Life has been very stressful the last few weeks, at work and trying to get custom orders filled and magazine project done. The holidays are always busy, especially at work. I hope to enjoy a couple of days off soon to get my bearings. I have a couple of Christmas decorations done to share with y'all and of course this year's version of my Christmas tree. I will post those as soon as I can. Until then...
