Love Sweet Girl

I love the sweet girl in this picture!! It's my granddaughter Elizabeth from about a year ago. Who wouldn't love that sweet face?!!

I found the background paper at Digital-Crea and it is part of Marta Designs Trip to the Seaside download. The background made this page so easy to create! Most of the other elements are from Marta Designs Wedding Telegram.
This week I have been rearranging the Art House. Again. It's coming along and hopefully will be done this weekend. I will have enough room to set up another table so I can have friends over to craft with me! I have been scouring Pinterest for organization ideas and boy have I found some!! Next week I am going to IKEA in Charlotte and can't wait to find some things that will help get me organized :)
That's all from me tonight. Until next time...

Pink Umbrella

This past week has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me. My best friend of 36 years passed away after a 7 year long battle with breast cancer. Janice was one of the best people in the whole wide world. She was funny, caring, strong and never met a stranger. She had a smile on her face always, even at the end of her life. It breaks my heart thinking of her son losing his mom. My head tells me she is in no more pain, but my heart just wants her here on earth. That was my very low point this week. Today I made plans with a sweet friend of mine to go shopping tomorrow and then teach her how to make mesh wreaths. Can't wait to spend time with her after not seeing each other for a few months!! Then tonight, while out eating dinner with my mom, daughter and son, I ran into another sweet friend that I haven't seen in almost two years!! What blessings these two friends are and I just so happen to reunite with them after so long! God really opened my eyes and heart with the loss of Janice. Hold on tight to friendships and spend as much time with loved ones because tomorrow is not promised. Live life to the fullest, every minute of every day!! With that being said, I want to share one of the most precious girls in my life, my granddaughter Elizabeth. She is such a ham. This picture was taken before her uncle's wedding that she was a flower girl in. She was, I believe, just having fun playing with a pink umbrella :)

I created this digital page using the pink umbrella and her pink shirt as my jumping off point. The rest of the elements just sort of fell into place. I use My Digital Studio for all my digital pages and there are several features that I love!! One is that you can change a square or rectangular picture into a round shape. The other is that you can change the color of elements. For instance, the pink umbrella that is on the right side of the picture was originally blue and the pink fan shape behind the cluster of flowers on the bottom right was originally yellow. Pretty cool, huh? Now I know Photoshop probably has these awesome features, but I have not figured out Photoshop. It scares me to be honest. My Digital Studio was the first digital scrapbooking (well, ok, the only) program that I have ever used and so it's hard for this old dog to learn new tricks, lol.
Now that I have totally made this the longest post ever, I will leave you with this... a sneaky peak of my tutorial project in this month's Scrap n' Art online magazine :)

(please keep in mind that there is a small subscription fee, but it
is so worth all the inspiration you get each month!!)
That's gonna be all from me today!! Until next time...

Sweet Girl

My granddaughter Elizabeth was the flower girl in her uncle's wedding a few weeks ago and I just adore this picture of her walking down the isle!! Of course I had to create a page with this picture.

I used many new digital downloads that I have found recently. I love the flowers, butterflies and the antique looking jewelry pieces tucked in with the flowers.
The June issue of Scrap n' Art online magazine is out!! Check out one of the articles/tutorials I wrote HERE!! (Keep in mind that there is a subscription fee, but it is so worth all the inspiration!!) Here is a sneak peak :)

I had a lot of fun creating with this month's feature company products!! Hero Arts was one of the companies we got to work with and I love their stamps and stencils.
I will be back later in the week to share more sneak peaks and a couple more digital projects that I've worked on lately. Until then...
Hugs and Happy Craftin'!!

Remembering My Sweet Friend

This past week has been kind of rough for me. I learned that my best friend since elementary school lost her 7 year battle to breast cancer. I am still a little numb. Janice was the kind of person who smiled all the time and never met a stranger. She was a fighter and was the strongest and most courageous person I know. When we were in school, we spent every weekend together, usually went to the skating rink or the movies and shared many secrets and so much laughter. When we were seniors in high school, her Mom got remarried and moved to another town. Janice moved in with us so she could graduate from our high school. She was one of my bridesmaids when I got married. I lost touch with her several times since high school, but we re-connected several years ago. I have not seen her in a couple of years, but we emailed each other often and talked some on Facebook. Tonight I went to pay my respects to her family and it was not easy. I know that Janice is not suffering anymore and that she has gone to be with Jesus. I cry for myself as I know I should have been a better friend. I should have been there for her more. But I know she knew that I love her, because we just had that kind of friendship. Rest in peace my sweet friend, until we meet again. I love you Janice!!
