Tomorrow, I am starting a 6 week painting class and I can't wait! The best part is I am doing it with one of my best friends in the whole wide world!

I better get off the computer and go get some things ready for the week. Until next time...

Being a Slug....

Sorry I have been MIA for over a week!! We went to Sevierville, TN for my birthday last weekend and the rest of the work week been hectic. I did take Tuesday off and worked out in the art house all day, but I can't share that project with you just yet!! It is for my secret sister for Scrapbook Friends & More Crafts February Secret Sister Swap. We have to create a book and it has to be either a journal, calendar or smash book. I chose journal but I put decorated pages between the journal pages so she can add pictures. I really hope she likes it!!

I did manage to create some birthday cards in My Digital Studio. They are for some of the guys at work and I needed to make them quickly so I used a template I had already created and then just changed the background. Here are the three I created:

Super simple cards! There are still so many awesome things to learn about My Digital Studio. Every time I sit down to create something, I learn a new trick.

So what have y'all been up to this week? Any crafting going on? I am going to a crop tonight and am going to work on a sock monkey name banner for my soon-to-be-here Grandson's nursery!! I started a canvas piece for him, we just need a picture to add to it :) He is due to arrive on April 20th, but I think he will be an early one. I will share the name banner soon and I am working on a tutorial for something awesome!! So be on the lookout :)

Until next time.....

Felt Rose Tutorial

I had a lot of people ask me how I made the felt flower on my Valentine swap below, so I thought I would do a tutorial. This is my first ever "real" tutorial, so I hope it is helpful!!

That's it!! Pretty simple, huh? Now go make yourself a whole bouquet of felt flowers!!

Until next time...

Dabbling....

I have been creating pages and cards digitally for a while now using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! I then started playing around with it and created my blog banner and some other little things on my side bar. A few months ago, I created the banner for the Scrapbook Friends & More Crafts and also created the blog banner for my daughter, Amber. This past week I created a cute little logo for a friend's new online children's boutique. So I have been thinking about maybe starting graphic design work for other bloggers and websites. Not sure where this little endeaver will go, but I am really thinking of giving it a try!! Here are a couple of the things I have created.

I finally finished the tutorial for the felt flowers and will post it shortly. So until then....

Valentine Love Hanger

I made this little Valentine Love hanger for a weekly challenge on the Scrapbook Friends & More Crafts Facebook page. We were to create something romantic, any medium of our choosing and had to include something tea stained and something burgundy. I started with a chipboard coaster that I colored with Tim Holtz Tea Stain Distress Dye. Next is a layer of K&Co designer paper cut out with a Spellbinders scallop die cut. The "LOVE" is a chipboard piece and is painted pink and then distressed with the same Tim Holtz distress dye. Across the top of the coaster I added a piece of tea stained lace and a piece of Maya Road rose ribbon that I had to add distress dye to to make it the dark burgundy.

The hanger is a piece of crinkled seam binding and I tied a chipboard heart with key to it with a second piece of seam binding. And that's it!! It came together pretty quickly.

I am going to an all day crop tomorrow and I can't wait!! I get to see some of my favorite crafting buddies :) So I guess I better go get all packed up. Until next time...

Valentine Swap

The January swap for Scrapbook Friends & More Crafts was Valentine themed. We were to create a Valentine using whatever medium we wanted. I had just received a package from Maya Road and that included their little Heart Shaped Tart Tins. How perfect they would be for this swap! Except there were only 10 tart tins and we were to make 17 Valentines. So, I looked high and low on the internet and found them on clearance for 69 cents each! As soon as I received them, I got to work. I decided to make all of the hearts the same.

I started with a piece of designer paper cut out in heart shape to the inside of each heart. I made the pouffy flower with pink felt. I am working on a tutorial for how to make them and will share that later this week. Under the felt flower I tucked in a piece of lace and added a little hot pink flower that is actually a flower ribbon from Maya Road. I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" on Confetti White cardstock, cut into strips with the ends snipped and rolled the ends with a bone folder. That's it!! Once I got one done, the other 16 came together quickly :)

Aren't they cute? Yeah, I think so, too!! I should have made an extra one for myself.

Tomorrow I will share a little Valentine hanger that I created for a challenge. So until then...
