New Digital Creations

First I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all the awesome men and women who serve and protect us! May God bless and watch over you and your families!!

I've been working on some pretty darn cute digital creations, even if I do say so myself, lol. Last week was busy at work, but I had a very nice 3 day weekend. Saturday I went to my first scrapbook crop in many years and had so much fun!! I joined a new Facebook group called Scrapbook Friends & More Crafts. There are some talented ladies in this group!! It was a great honor for them to ask me to create the banner for the FB page and they just posted it earlier today. It was so much fun to create. I love creating things with paper, but digital creating is so much fun!! Here are a couple more things that I created this week using My Digital Studio.

This has a lot of different elements on it. I love it! The little bird is just so darn cute!!

Of course I had to make something with the grandbaby on it!!

I also made my new blog signature for each post. I tried to match it to my blog header. That bird just looks so happy :)

Hope ya'll have a wonderful week!! Until next time....

Graduation Time!!

Yes, it is that time of year again and we know a lot of kids that are graduating this year. That's what happens when you have a large family :) My Mom asked for me to make her cards to send out so these are the "girl" cards. They are the same layout, just different papers. Of course they have flowers on them, lol. I am on a big flower kick lately. These also have butterflies on them :). The sentiment at the bottom says, "Spread your wings and fly", so the butterflies seemed appropriate. Another thing about my cards lately is that they are not simple. I can't seem to do a simple card anymore. They have to have lots of layers, dimension and texture. I don't like perfect either. I love shabby and distressed. I think these cards fit all those discriptions.

this is card #1

card #1 closeup of butterflies

card #1 close up of flower

card #2

card #2 closeup of flower

card #2 closeup of butterflies

card #3

card #3 closeup of flower

card #3 closeup of butterflies

They are pretty much the same exact card, just a few different elements for each.  The background papers are each different, but all papers come from the same K&Co paper pack called Wild Raspberry. I have used this paper a lot lately. It is just so pretty and fun!! I still have to make "boy" graduation cards. I struggle to make masculine cards for some reason. I think I may create those in My Digital Studio. I have an idea in my head that I think will work. We'll see.

That's all for me tonight. Hope you have a great week!!
Until next time...

Do You Create Digitally?

I purchased My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! when it was first introduced and while I, by no means, am a pro at it, I love creating things in this program. I just finished my new blog header and I am so happy with how it turned out!! (yes, there is a little name change, I just added crafts at the end) I have created cards, scrapbook layouts, on and on and on. I have created several quotes that I would like to print out and frame. Here are a few things that I have done....

I saw this quote on Pinterest and love the message!

I created this with my Granddaughter Elizabeth in mind.
I want to print and frame it for her room.

I saw something similar to this on another blog
(sorry, can't remember where) and fell in love.

I am working on a couple of scrapbook layouts now. One is of Elizabeth (of course) and the other one is all about me. That sounds funny to me because I don't normally scrapbook about me, lol. But it is sort of a homework assignment for a new scrap booking group on Facebook. We are to create a page introducing ourselves and telling who we are, what we like. I still need a picture for it, but as soon as it's complete, I will share it with ya'll :)

Well, I'm off to watch Junk Gypsies on HGTV. I love this show!!!
Until next time....

Thanks Honey Bee card

Well, the weekend is almost over and Monday will be here in a few hours. (sigh). This has been a great Mother's Day weekend and I wish it didn't have to come to an end. I was very productive in the craft building and I got to spend time with my Mom, kids and granddaughter. I love my family so much!!

This is my latest card. The Bee Sweet Honey piece is from FlairDesigns Farmer's Market scrapbook paper and I knew when I saw it that I wanted to use the images as separate pieces.

The flower is 4 layers of K&Co Wild Raspberry DP cut out with Spellbinders Scallop Circle die cut and snipped at each scallop to make the petals.

The little bee near the bottom right of the card is from Stampin' Up! Nature Walk stamp set. It is colored, cut out and applied with a little bit of hot glue.

Here is a complete list of stuff used on this card:
Paper: SU! Kraft and Confetti cardstock; FlairDesigns Farmer's Market paper; K&Co Wild Raspberry DP
Stamps: SU! Nature Walk
Ink: SU! Creamy Caramel and Bashful Blue
Accessories: Spellbinders Scallop Circle die cut, white shear ribbon, blue ribbon, hot glue

I hope ya'll have a great week! I will be back soon with more projects to share with you :)

Until next time....

A Cup of Thanks

Hope you all are having a wonderful Mother's Day! I will be spending some time with my sweet Mom, my awesome kids and my precious granddaughter. It can't get much better than that :)

I have always had a thing for tea cups and tea pots and I have a small collection of miniature tea sets. So when Stampin' Up! came out with the Tea Shoppe stamp set, it had to be mine! The images are all so cute.

I've been wanting to use that strawberry paper for a while, it's so cheery. The tea bag idea came from Splitcoast Stampers and you can see that card HERE. Love the look of that! I made the tea bag by using a tag punch and then wrapping a small piece of a coffee filter around.

Supplies that I used:
Paper: K&Co Susan Winget Specialty paper; SU! Kraft and Confetti cardstock; red and white polka dot (unknown company)
Stamps: SU! Tea Shoppe
Ink: SU! Creamy Caramel and Riding Hood Red
Accesorries: SU! Lucky Limeaid Ruffled Ribbon, SU! oval scallop punch; string, coffee filter

Hope ya'll have a great day! Until next time....

Rooster Plaque for Mom

My Mom loves chickens and roosters. Her house is decorated with all sorts of ceramics, paintings, etc. of chicken and rooster themed things. She especially likes funky chickens and roosters and even has some yard decorations. I don't think a gifting holiday goes by that she doesn't receive something chicken themed. And that goes for Mother's Day, which is tomorrow. So, of course, I had to make something with a rooster on it.

I started with a 10 1/2" x 8" plain wooden plaque purchased at AC Moore. It is painted with Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint. The rooster is a computer image that I printed and cut out to use as a template. I painted it with acrylic paints and also used a brown marker to outline the beak, eyes and feet. It was sanded lightly to distress it. I added Annie Sloan Dark Wax to it in places to give it an aged look and then applied Annie Sloan Clear Wax over the whole thing.

I hope she likes it. I tend to worry about that when making things for other people. And of course this started out as a whole other thing in my head, lol. I was originally going to try to use a lot of different scraps of designer papers to make it "funky", but it just didn't work out that way. Maybe I will still try that, but for now, I think this one turned out pretty good.

I wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow. I hope you get to spend time with your families, especially your Moms! I feel so blessed to have the most fabulous Mom in the whole wide world!!! I love you Mom!!

Until next time...

Sweet Friend Card

Hello again! It seems like this week has been dragging along so slowly, but we are now on the edge of the weekend!! I have been trying to get in gear working on things in the craft building. Made a few cards, painted a couple of candle sconces, started on a present for Mom for Mother's Day and oh yea, rearranged the whole craft building again! lol Seems like I just can't get it exactly how I pictured it in my head. I think I finally have all the big pieces where they will stay. Now to just finish organizing and labeling everything so I can find stuff.

I was looking at Melissa Phillip's blog again the other day and she had this card posted. Is it not darling? I love the layout, so I cased it. I just can't help myself, lol.

I think I have an addiction to adding flowers to all my cards. They just seem like a natural choice for a focal point to me. I am also addicted to lots of layers. I guess I just don't like simple, flat cards.
The more layers and elements, the better! That's why I love Melissa's style. Her cards have so many details. She puts things together that I would have never thought of.

Close up of the flower and butterfly

see all those layers? love :)

Here's a list of stuff I used on this card:
Paper: K&Co Wild Raspberry Paper Pack, SU! card stock
Ink: SU! Creamy Caramel, Real Red
Stamps: SU! Great Friend
Accessories: SU! punch, Spell Binders scallop die cut, ribbon, button, pink pearl strand, sewing machine

Well that's all for me tonight. Until next time....
Hugs and Happy Craftin'!

Don't show this to my Mom....

I don't want her to see it until next Sunday! It's her Mother's Day card, so shhhhh, tell let her I'm showing it here, ok? Ok, thanks! Hope she likes it :)

Of course it has a gozillion layers. I can't seem to make a card with less that 3 layers. And of course it has a big flower on it which seems like what I have done on every card I have made lately. Just something about a big focal flower makes me smile.

Here is a list of stuff I used on this card...
Papers: Stampin' Up! card stock and designer paper, K&Co designer paper
Ink: Stampin' Up! Creamy Caramel ink pad
Accessories: Spell Binder scallop die cut; Stampin' Up! - Fire & Ice brad, doily die cut, small polka dot impression plate and scallop square punch, silk flowers, tulle, pearls on a string,

I am also working on her Mother's Day gift, but it's not anywhere near finished, so I guess I better go work on it now! Until next time...

Hugs and Happy Craftin'!

New Papertrey Ink Diecuts in the House!!

There are several blogs that I read on a regular basis and then there are a couple that I can not wait until they have a new post. LilyBean's Paperie is one of those that I get anxious to see what new awesomeness she has come up with. Melissa is so talented. I have shared my obsession adoration for her in the past. She just keeps coming up with better and better ideas! When I saw this card, I got all giddy and immediately had to purchase the Notched Flower die cut from Papertrey Ink. It came in the mail Thursday and I went straight to the craft building to play around with it. I kept thinking about Melissa's card, so I cased it :) Mine is not as detailed as hers, she just has an eye for putting things together randomly to make it all work together. So jealous of that talent. Here is my card.

The flower is made of several layers of different papers,
a button, a small silk flower and a brad. The leaves are
cut out free hand and then stitched on the sewing machine.

Side view shows the layers of the flower.

I even decorated the inside!! I don't normally
do that, but like the way it makes a card
look detailed and "professional".

Here's a list of awesome stuff I used on this card :) -
Paper: Stampin' Up! card stock and designer papers, My Mind's Eye designer papers
Stamps: Whimsical Words and Artistic Etchings
Accessories: Stampin' Up! brad, buttons and ribbon; Papertrey Ink Notched Flower die cut; sewing machine

Go check out Melissa's blog if you haven't already. You will be blown away by her talent!!
That's all for me today. Hope ya'll have an awesome weekend!
Until next time.....
