Gingerbread House

I created this gingerbread house with the SU! Bigz Top Note die cut and numerous punches.

The "house" is the Top Note die cut out of Close to Cocoa and Whisper White papers. For the snow covered roof and ground, I punched the scallop border with the Scallop Border punch. The door is Real Red punched out with the Curly Label punch. The candy is Real Red punched with the Word Window and the 1" punch. I doodled the lines and swirls with a white gel pen. Every thing is covered in Irredescent Ice ep. The door knob is a pearl flat bottom button. The sentiment is a rub-on from the SU! Season of Cheer set. The card base is Bashful Blue. The idea for this card came to me in a dream at about 3:00 this morning. I kept dreaming about it until I finally got out of bed at 6:00 and I got to work making it. There are a few different ways I thought of making this and so I'm going to play now! Hope you have a good weekend! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

This is a perpetual calendar made with a cookie sheet as the base. I painted it and covered it with pretty papers from SU! Rose Cottage Simply Scrappin' kit. Each month is stamped with Chocolate Chip on River Rock textured cardstock and each number is stamped on Soft Sky textured cardstock that came in the kit. I cut each one down and used the corner rounder and then put a magnet dot on the back of each one (well two on some of the months). The days of the
week are stamped on the same River Rock paper and punched out with the Round Tab punch and glued in place. I punched a hole in the sides with the Crop-a-dile and tied ribbon through them for the hanger.
All the extra pieces that are not in use (the months and any extra numbers) are stored on the inside of the pan. I really like how this turned out, even though it's not my normal colors. It is a little more elegant than I usually go for, lol. I think I might make a bright, colorful one next! I also wanted to try my hand at an Advent Calendar.
My friends Melissa and Mary and I went to the Carolina Christmas Classic this afternoon and saw the most awesome handcrafted items! In case you don't know what the CCC is, it is the most awesome craftsmans show. Crafters and artisans from all over the country come and sell their creations in two huge buildings located at the SC State Fairgrounds. Oh my, some of those crafters are so talented. I was in total awe with some of the things I saw. The only thing I purchased was a little reindeer made from clay with real sticks from a holly bush for antlers! He is the cutest darn thing! I'll have to take a pic and post it. One thing I saw and really wanted, but am too broke to buy right now, where some earrings, but they weren't just your run of the mill earrings! They wrap around the lobe and don't pinch or hurt, you can barely tell they are there, but they stay on your ear very securely. And they also sell the little dangly colored crystals that you can remove from the earring and change out with different colors to go with your wardrobe. They were so awesome!! My next good paycheck, after Christmas that is, I'm going to order a pair. And the best thing is, the couple that created them don't live too far from my town.
So, my day was long and tiresome, but so worth it!
Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!
