Wooden Cigar Box

Sorry for the not so great picture. This is a wooden cigar box that I covered with pretty paper. I used 2 complimentary pieces from a paper pack and Mod Podged layers of the flowers that I cut out. The trim is a piece that I got on one of my trips to Asheville when Amber was in school in NC. I love that trim, but it was too blue so I rubbed it through a Close to Cocoa ink pad and low and behold, it turned green! Hey, it works! I glued big wooden beads on the bottom for feet. It's one of the items I made for the craft fairs that I'm doing. So far, I haven't done very well at them, but I have another one this Saturday, so cross your fingers for me!! Next time I want to share something very special with ya'll. It's something that I sort of came up with from another idea I saw and so I adapted it for my needs. That's all I'm saying about it right now. So until then, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Bella Birdie

I love this paper, don't you?! I have used it so much that I'm almost out. Gotta get some more!! For this card, I used the colors from the pape, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. Love these new In Colors, too! The card base is Kiwi Kiss with a layer from Bella Rose paper pack. I tied a piece of Silver Chord around this piece before adhering it to the card base. The square is a piece from the same pack mounted on Riding Hood Red. I cut out roses and leaves from some scraps and mounted them with dimentionals. The bird is stamped with Riding Hood Red on the same green dp from the first layer and glued down. The sentiment is from a retired set.

I never get rid of sentiments when they retire. I don't have a lot, so I hang on to them. Some stamp sets I keep because I can't bear the thought of letting them go! Someone asked me how I labeled my stamp sets that have retired. I use those little round colored dots that you find at Office Depot or Office Max where the labels are. I like to use the yellow ones because you can write on them, it shows up better. I also do this for each of the hostess sets that I earn by putting an "H" and the year and the Sale-A-Bration sets with SAB and the year.

Hope ya'll have a great Sunday! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!
