Girly

very girly, dontcha think? This is another covered
lunch tin for the craft fairs that I have coming up. I painted it pink and Mod Podged the designer paper (retired SU!). I stamped "hair bows" with Spunky Alphabet in Pixie Pink and covered the whole piece with Irredescent Ice dp. It is very sparkly in real life. The last thing I did was tied a bunch of different types of ribbon.

Today is Dakota's birthday, so I'm gonna get off of the computer and spend a little more time with him before bed time.

Ya'll have a terrific Tuesday and I'll see ya soon!

My apologies...

for not being here for a couple weeks. I have been dealing with some family issues and blogging got put on the back burner. I haven't had much fun time stamping lately either, but I did get an afternoon of stamping in last weekend and did get a couple things done. I have two craft fairs coming up in the next couple weeks, so I am working on packing everything up. I definitely need to get some Christmas cards made this week, because that's one of the things they put on the list that I would be offering. Nothing like procrastinating!! I think I'm the Queen of Procrastination! So anyway, here is one of the items I worked on last weekend.

It's a name frame for my cousin who is getting married in 2 weeks. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm using it for my first craft fair as a sample to maybe get some custom name frame orders. I know, I know, I'm bad! I started with a piece of designer paper from My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus paper pack for the background. I stamped the letters from Letterpress Alphabet in Old Olive on Very Vanilla cs and doodled around each one with Old Olive marker. Each letter is mounted on Close to Cocoa. The bottom tag part is Spunky Numbers and Alphabet stamped on Old Olive with Chocolate Chip. I doodled around it with Chocolate Chip marker. I punched a circle from Close to Cocoa, folded in half and added the clip with a brad. The final touch is the green ribbon tied to the clip. I hope that Leslie and Trey like it.

Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow, I will try to post a lunch box that I decorated. Until then, Hugs & Happy Stampin'!

This frame used to be.....

UGLY!!!! But, after a little paint, some Tim Holtz Adorondak alcohol inks and Lumierre, it turned out beautiful! I stamped the two images from Long Time Friend (retired) together on Very Vanilla cs and colored with pencils and blender pen. After it was all colored, I stamped Linen BG (also retired) over the image with Creamy Caramel. Layered main image on More Mustared and Old Olive that were ink distressed and the bottom layer is a green floral paper from Wild Asparagus paper pack from My Mind's Eye. This is one of the items that I made for an upcoming craft fair.
Thanks for checking in with me today!! I'll see ya'll again real soon.

Kinda Shabby Chic

I'm still lovin' this little bird from the Always stamp set. He's just so sweet looking. Or is it a girl since it has flowers on it? haha. Either way, it's pretty darn cute! I had the idea for this card in my head and it took about 4 hours to make, because I played around with it so much. I finally got it close to how I imagined it. I started with the DP from the Bella Rose pack (love that paper!!). The first thing I did with that piece was cute out the inside to make a frame and I tore the edges inside and outside the frame. I wadded it up and distressed it with Close to Cocoa ink on a sponge applicator. The piece inside the frame is Very Vanilla cs stamped with Linen BG and French Script BG (both retired, but I just can't part with them). The heart and bird are stamped with chocolate chip on the opposite side of the DP from the frame. The heart is popped up on demensionals. The card base is Kiwi Kiss, one of the new In Colors (love it!!), stamped with Linen BG in Kiwi Kiss. The strip across the bottom is a piece of Close to Cocoa and a strip of the same DP. The bird is glued on top of that strip. The sentiment is stamped on another scrap of the DP, punched out with the Round Tap punch and tucked behind the strip. The buttons are from Earth Elements Button set glued to the card.
So, I have a few more things to share with you that I've been working on for the last couple of weeks and will post them over the next few days. I really want to start blogging more again, now that I am getting my new work routine down better. I love my new job!! It's just a little mentally tiring. I am used to that, but with this job, I stay busy all day. Not really a lot of down time. For a quick explanation of what I do, we do the indexing for real estate documents filed of public record in counties for a specific state. Basically, I do data entry, which I never thought that I would like, but I really enjoy it.
So that's all for now. See ya'll real soon! Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Sorry it's been so quiet...

on my blog, but my life has been nothing but quiet lately. I've been trying to get into the routine of my new job, the kids started school (yeah, 3rd grade homework!), life in general has just been busy. I have worked on a couple of new things and will post those maybe later today and tomorrow. For now, I'm going to share a cute email a friend of mine sent to me. It's really funny, hope you enjoy!

GIRLIE WISDOM

Women over 50 don't have babies because they would put them down and forget where they put them.

A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills.... she has 14 kids but doesn't really care.

One of life's mysteries is how a 2 pound box of chocolate can make you gain 5 pounds.

My mind not only wanders... it sometimes leaves completely (this is me sometimes, haha).

The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

The nice part about living in a small town is that if you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.

The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight because by then, you and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today. (this is me a lot lately!)

Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers.

Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrings 2 sizes!

Skinny people irritate me. Especially when they say thing like, "You know sometimes I forget to eat." .... Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name and my keys, but I have never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!!

Have a great LABOR DAY!!!! See ya'll again soon!
