Over at Taylor's blog, there is a great sketch challenge, go check it out! I really love this sketch!! Of course the top part looks like a canopy, or atleast it does to me, and it makes me think of a little cafe, so that's where I went with this one. The first time I saw the Sassy Suzie stamp set in the current mini catalog, I had to have it. I love this image! I think she looks so cute in the little "window". All the paper is from the SU! Special Delivery Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit. I stamped, colored and added stickles to Suzie and then stamped the "floor" from Looks Like Spring. The Apricot Appeal piece is cut out to look like a window. The base is textured Groovy Guava from the kit. The canopy is the DP from the kit cut with scallop decorative scissors. The bigger scallop border is done with the slit punch on a piece of DP from my LSS. The ribbon is from AC Moore. The circle is from Circle of Friendship stamped on Apricot Appeal layered on Groovy Guava and stickers from the kit and adhered with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

New Blog Banner.....

compliments of Mariah!! My kid rocks! I can not believe how good she is with all this computer stuff. I told her what I wanted and she delivered! I keep telling her she needs to do this professionally, but she still wants to be a math teacher! She's only 17 and will probably change her mind 10 times before she's out of college. I have always told my kids that they can do anything they set their mind to do. So I guess if she wants to be a math teacher, she'll be the best math teacher there is! Until then, she can create computer graphic stuff for me!

Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Vacation Fund

I made this for a friend's daughter who is saving for a tropical vacation. Vacation, vacation. I remember those! I am actually taking a vacation this year, too! We are going to Orlando in July. I really wanted to go to the mountains, but Dan booked his time share a little late, so Orlando it is. Don't get me wrong, I love Florida, it's just so darn hot in July! Most of my Mom's family is in Florida and we usually go down in the summer, so I'm used to the heat (I live in SC and it's really hot and humid here too), I just wanted a little change this year. Oh well, hopefully, we can go to the Outerbanks in NC next year!
So, anyway, about this bank. It's one of those freebies I got from my electric company several weeks back. I covered it with some very pretty tropical flower paper from my LSS. The "vacation fund" is Whimsical Lower Alphabet stamped in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White and mounted on Pumpkin Pie. The flowers are SU! Die Cut Blooms. The flip flops and palm tree are buttons. The vacation ribbon came in a combo pack from AC Moore. I adhered the ribbon with silver and Fire and Ice Brads.
I really hope that my friend and her daughter like it!!
Thanks for checking in today. Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!!

Hey all! I'm still around and have been working on a lot of different things. I got out my camera Saturday to take pics and they all came out really dark and then my battery died! Just my luck! So it is charged again and I will try again tonight and hopefully get something posted. Some of the things that I have done in the last week are so darn cute! Can't wait to share!
Until then, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Wedding Memory Box

I made this for that craft fair that I did a couple of weeks ago. It is a large lunch box tin. I painted the top a taupe acrylic paint and Lumiere. The paper is from my LSS and is so beautiful in real life. It shimmers! There is ribbon around the top and bottom edges and wrapped around the handle. I did not put anything on the front yet so it could be customized. I make these for weddings and baby showers to store things to remember those special times, like the first baby booties or the wedding garter belt. I have given them as gifts and I have sold a few. (BTW, this one is for sale!!) I'll show you the other wedding memory box that I made in a couple of days. Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Thinking Positively!

I have had too much negativity in my life lately and I am on a personal quest to surround myself with positive people and situations. I know that every moment of the day can't be a great one, but I can control how I react to those moments. I have always tried to be a glass half full kind of person. A lot of not so great things have happened in my life, but I think that those things have made me a stronger person. In the last few weeks, I have gotten emails from a website that focuses on the positive and I wanted to share something that was posted on there last week:

1. Peace of mind
2. Peace of heart
3. Peace of soul

1. Squash gossip
2. Squash indifference
3. Squash grumbling
4. Squash selfishness

1. Lettuce be faithful
2. Lettuce be kind
3. Lettuce be patient
4. Lettuce really love one another

1. Turnip for meetings
2. Turnip for service
3. Turnip to help one another

1. Thyme for each other
2. Thyme for family
3. Thyme for friends

. . . Pass it on!!!!

This is a small top load lunch tin that I made for last week's craft fair. Bummer it didn't sell, but I think I'm going to change the name on the front to "Stampin' Buddies" and keep a card with information about each of my downlines (BTW, I signed two girls up for SU! last week, so I am officially an upline!!!!) and customers. Although, I do have a cousin getting married in October, so this might be a good wedding gift. MMMM, now I'm gonna have to make another one for myself!! lol. I painted the top with acrylic paint and added a coat of Mod Podge to seal it. I got the paper from my LSS (don't remember who made it). "Recipes" is stamped on Old Olive cs with the Whimsical Lower Alphabet in Timber Brown Stazon. This is adhered with Mod Podge and then a couple of coats all over. The ribbons are misc. from different companies. I really love how this turned out, a little retro and oh so cute!

I'll see ya'll later! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Dad's Golf Bank

This is another bank that I made from the free container I received from my electric company. I covered this one in green paper and golf related stickers. The only stamping is the "Dad's Golf Fund". I made the top for the money slot to look like a golf ball going into the hole. I really like how it turned out and I got two orders at the craft fair, I just need to find two more of the freebie banks.
I have a few more things to show you that I worked on all last week instead of blogging! I made two Wedding Memory tins and the cutest little recipe box. Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stamping!
