Baby Leland Name Frame

This is the name frame that I made for the girl that works in my building. Baby Leland is due at the end of May. This picture is dark, but is the best picture I could get.
The BG paper is called Conversation from Crate Paper's Brunch Collection.
The letters are from Letterpress Alphabet (retired) stamped on Whisper White in Chocolate Chip. Each letter is double mounted on Certainly Celery and Brocade Blue. I added doodles with Really Rust pen on the Certainly Celery pieces. It's very simple, but doesn't it look great?!! Cyndi and Chris really loved it.
A while back, a few people asked me where I get my frames. I get most of them (this one, too) from Walmart and they are $3.00 each! Can't beat that. However, they are not in the frame section, they are always in an isle display and it seems that they move it around sometimes. Sometimes it's near the bedding section and the last time I went, it was near the toy section. Go figure! Seems like they know when I'm coming to wipe them out, so they try to hide it from me! lol. Sometimes you can find really neat frames for altering at the Dollar Tree or Family Dollar, but usually for these name frames, I stick with the Walmart ones.
Thanks for checking in today. Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Fuzzy Puppy Card

I made this for a girl that works in my building. She is pregnant with her first baby and her baby shower was today. The nursery is decorated with puppies, so I wanted to make a puppy card for her. I found the polka dot paper at my LSS. It is flocked and is so soft and fuzzy! I stamped the puppy from October Afternoon acrylic stamps (my very first time stamping with acrylic!) on the Very Vanilla CS and on the flocked paper and paper pieced him together. The puppy image and the DP pieces are mounted on Close to Cocoa. The card base is Close to Cocoa with a layer of Bashful Blue. The sentiment is from So Very. The sweet is stamped in Close to Cocoa and punched out with the Word Window punch. The blue ribbon is a narrow satin ribbon that I got at Michael's for $1.00 a while back. The puppy feels almost real!! He is so cute! She loved the card. I also made her a name frame for baby Leland. I will post that tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

This is really cool!

Featured Stamper #63

is Sparklegirl and this is the card I cased. I kept the layout the same and pretty much kept the same color scheme, except I used Pretty in Pink instead of Groovy Guava. I changed the main image and instead of piercing, I embossed the background on the So Saffron piece. I also used an organdy ribbon instead of her yummy Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon (note to self: gotta order some of that ribbon!) and I also did not use a sentiment. The main image is from Artfully Asian and is colored in with SU! markers and then added stickles. I love that stuff! The brads are Fire and Ice stuck through Flower Eyelets. The card base is Chocolate Chip, a layer of Pretty in Pink, a layer of So Saffron embossed with the Swiss Dots CB embossing folder. The main image is stamped on Whisper White and double mounted on Pretty in Pink and So Saffron and then mounted on Chocolate Chip that was cut out with scallop decorative scissors. Go check out Sparklegirl's Splitcoast Gallery, it is great!
Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Bad Blogger

That's me this week. I meant to post a couple of pics on Sunday, but I was lazy. Monday I spent 3 hours after work looking for a prom dress with Mariah. Tuesday we finally found the perfect prom dress and then I went to my MOMS & More meeting (check us out on my side bar - we are awesome! if I do say so myself!) Finally tonight, I'm here!!! This is a card that I made for my Dad for Father's Day. I usually stick with SU! stamps, but the Hannah Stamps stamps are so cute!! This is "Riley", isn't he adorable?! I stamped Riley on Whisper White and colored him in with SU! markers. The clouds and ground are colored using a Blender Pen. He is double mounted on Garden Green and Summer Sun. The sun is a Sizzex die cut from Summer Sun. The sentiment is from Cowboy Kid stamped in Basic Black. The card base is Garden Green. I wanted the card to be like John Deere because my Dad has a John Deere tractor and collects the little die cast tractor figures. It came out how I envisioned it!

Ya'll don't freak out....

since this is the second post today!!!! I received my goodies from my Card Makin' Mamas Secret Sis. I am a member of this online group on CafeMom. There is a link on my side bar if you're interested in checking us out!!! I signed up for a Secret Sis swap and got all these goodies from my SS!! I have wanted to buy some of those little mouse stamps, but never see the ones I want in the stores. Well, my SS sent me a bunch of the images and I could not wait to use one!! They are all so cute! I also love the little charms and that ribbon is adorable!! Thanks to my CMMSS!!! This card was so much fun to make. The image is colored with SU! pencils and a blender pen. I mounted it on Apricot Appeal and layered it on top of a piece of designer paper that came in a kit that I've had forever and have no clue what company it's from. The card base is Brocade Blue. Simple card but oh so cute!!! Who can go wrong with these mouse images? They scream cuteness! (yes I know that I am a DORK!)

So I hope you didn't freak out too much with my second post! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

I was on a roll......

After I finished the Featured Stamper card, I had some left overs from it that I didn't use, so I made this card with them. I love that designer paper! I usually go for the bold bright colors (if you haven't noticed, lol), but this patterned paper is so pretty and rich looking that I couldn't help myself! The card base and the layers are the same, Chocolate Chip card base, Really Rust, River Rock and K & Company DP layers. The main image is from True Friend stamped on River Rock using markers to color and the gold embossed flower petal is on Really Rust (it was a left over from the other card) and adhered with dimensionals. I clipped the corners off with the Slit Punch (I just eyeballed it to try to get them all the same :)) and mounted on Really Rust. I added dots in the corners with the Gold Zig Painty pen and tied the wide Vanilla Organdy ribbon. I thought that I had a gold toned ribbon but could not find it. That's a sign that I need to get more organized. I did spend most all last Sunday rearranging my stamp area, but did not get to really organize my papers and accessories yet. I really need to get that done so I can find all my stuff and actually use some of it!

I have a couple more things to post in the next day or so, so until then, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

The Splitcoast Featured Stamper for this week (actually it was posted on Sunday, but I'm behind again!) is Jodi AKA Kharmagirl and this is the card I cased. I love her layout! I changed the color scheme and used a different stamp for the focal point and I did not use a sentiment. The card base is Chocolate Chip with a layer of Really Rust and another layer of River Rock (I cut the corners off of this layer with the Slit Punch). The DP is from K & Company. The ribbon is SU! Chocolate Chip Wide Gross Grain. The flowers are from True Friend stamped in Versamark on Really Rust and River Rock, each gold embossed and adhered with dimensionals and adhered to River Rock punched with the Marvy Uchida Giga Scallop punch and layered on a Really Rust circle. I added a dot on each scallop with a metalic gold marker and added a brad to the center of the flower. I really like it!!! Go check out Jodi's gallery, it's great!
Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Round Card

I have seen round cards on Splitcoast and always wanted to try one and finally got up the nerve, but I'm not too crazy about the folded top. I have the Circle Scissors and tried folding the card stock and then cutting it out, but it was too thick and kept moving. Accckkk! So frustrating! So, I thought of this and it's ok, just not the best looking. So anyway, I cut out two same size circle using the Circle Scissors from Pretty in Pink card stock, scored a small portion on one using my Scor-pal (which by the way, I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE!!!!) and then taped the two circle together on that fold with double sided sticky tape. I stamped the butterfly from Garden Whimsy on the front circle and again on a scrap piece and embossed with Irredescent Ice EP, cut out and mounted with demensionals. The sentiment is from Garden Whimsy stamped in Chocolate Chip. The small flowers are punched out of the portion left over from the butterfly with SU! Three Flower Punch. I doodled stitches around the entire card and stapled the piece of ribbon to the top. This card fits in a regular A2 sized envelope. Well, it's different!
I am having a Beginner's Stamp Class tomorrow morning, but I still have a couple other things to post, so I'll probably be back tomorrow evening!
Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

A week behind again!

I know, I know, I'm a week behind posting this! Last week's Featured Stamper #40 on Splitcoast was Laura AKA ScrapnExtras and this is the card I cased. Laura has the most terrific gallery, it was hard to choose just one card. I would have done more, but this week time did not permit. I had to get ready for the craft fair yesterday. I did better at this one than any other before! I didn't get any orders for name frames or memory boxes, but I almost sold out of coaster sets and I got 6 people signed up for my Beginner's Stamp Class for next Saturday! I need a larger customer base. I think that I lost a few of my customers because for a while I wasn't having any events, so hopefully this will help and I can get back into the groove of things. Anyway, back to the card! I used almost the same color scheme as Laura, except I left out the pink and used almost the same layout. I love faux clossoine, but have never used designer paper, always magazine pictures, but I also got rid of all the mags that I had collected for this technique. I just don't have the space for them all! I really like the look of this technique on designer paper, it's a softer look than mag pics. The card base is Soft Sky, stamped with the flowers from Always in versa mark and clear embossed. The back panels are Soft Sky and Certainly Celery that I ran through the Cuttlebug with Birds and Swirls embossing folder. Both are mounted on Chocolate Chip. The heart is stamped once on Sky Blue and once on SU! Porcelain Prints DP with versamark and embossed with Gold Glory ep. I cut the heart out of the DP piece and mounted on the solid piece with demensionals. The heart is mounted on a square piece of SU! Porcelain Prints DP that was double mounted on Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip. The bird is also from Always stamped on the same DP as the heart with versamark and gold embossed. I cut it out (time consuming and kind of a pain, lol!) and glued to the card. I really love it!! This card is bigger than I normally make, just like the last Featured Stamper card I did. I'm kind of liking the larger size, I just now need to order some envelopes for them to fit in!
Now, I'm off to clean off my stamp desk and hopefully stamp something from this week's Featured Stamper, Kristi AKA Mommylvs2stamp! I have already checked out her gallery and it is amazing, too!
Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!
