Mom's Birthday card

I can finally post this now that Mom's birthday has passed. She finally started reading my blog a couple of weeks ago and her birthday was March 19, so I didn't want to post it until we had her party last weekend. I think she liked it, (did you like it Mom?) lol

The main image is from If the Halo Fits stamped on Whisper White with Black Stazon. I colored the image with SU! Markers, the wings and water can with a Silver Zig Painty and added Iredescent Ice EP to them and the hearts and Halo. I sponged Bashful Blue to make it look like she is flying in the sky. I mounted the main image on Pretty in Pink and the card base is Gable Green that I ran through the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Thanks for checking in today! I have a couple more things to share and will post them tomorrow evening. Until then, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

Featured Stamper #59

I am a week late getting this done and posted! It took me about 3 hours to make this card because I got interupted so many times, but I finally finished it. This card is 5 inch square and is not a normal size card for me to do. For some reason, I have always stuck to regular A2 sized cards, but I really like this larger size. Now I just need to order some envelopes this size! Last Sunday's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast was Amy (Pickle Tree - Splitcoast name) and this is the card I CASED. I love, love, loved this card when I was browsing her gallery. Everything in her gallery is awesome! The things I changed: I used Old Olive instead of Always Artichoke; I used organdy ribbon and no sentiment, she used double stitched ribbon and Hodgepodge Hardware and a sentiment; She also sewed on hers and I don't have a sewing machine :(

The card base is Chocolate Chip with a layer of Old Olive that was embossed with CB Dots and Spots embossing folder and distressed the edges. Then a layer of Bashful Blue embossed with CB Birds and Swirls embossing folder, distressed the edges and mounted on Chocolate Chip with distressed edges. The main image is From the Garden stamped with Timber Brown Stazon and watercolored with SU! Watercolor Crayons and a Blender Pen. Cut it out and mounted with Dimensionals. The ribbon is SU! wide Organdy that I heated with the Heat Gun to "age" it a little. I really love how it turned out. Thanks Amy for such great inspiration!
Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!

These two cards were inspired by Angie over at Quacking Creations. Her blog is terrific! She is so creative. I want to be Angie when I grow up! haha. Everything she does is magical and has so much detail.

The card base is Lavender Lace and a layer of Gable Green. The main image is Blossoms Abound stamped with Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace and Almost Amethyst, the stems are Close to Cocoa and the leaves are Gable Green. Before I stamped the flowers, stems and leaves, I stamped Linen BG (retired) in Gable Green and French Script (retired) in Close to Cocoa and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa also. I stamped a flower, stem and leaves, added Glassy Glaze, did the Cracked Glass technique, cut out and mounted with demensionals. The main image is mounted on Close to Cocoa. I also distressed the edges and added doodles on the Lavender Lace card base. The top card has "friend" from Blossoms Abound stamped in Chocolate Chip and added Iredescent Ice. I loved Angie's decorative brad that she used and I just so happened to have had these for a while, but never used them before. The bottom card has "blessed" from So Very stamped in Chocolate Chip and white organdy ribbon. Thanks Angie for the inspiration!

This is different

I thought about this card for a week before I actually tried it and it turned out how I envisioned it, but it doesn't stand up right! I'm trying to come up with some different things to maybe incorporate into Amber's wedding invitations or thank you cards, ect. This would be a sweet wedding card. The card base is Real Red. I stamped the heart from Always onto a piece of Real Red and taped it in place (temporarily) and cut the card base about half way up, cutting around the bottom half of the heart. I removed the heart piece and added a strip of Basic Black that was embossed with the Cuttlebug's D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I stamped the heart two more times, then layered on top of each other with demensionals. The top one was embossed with Iredescent Ice EP. The sentiment is from Warm Words stamped in Basic Black ink.

Monkey Monday!

My daughter Mariah loves monkeys. When she was little, she would have "monkey time" everyday. She would act like a monkey, jumping around and making monkey noises for about 15 minutes starting at around 5:30 in the afternoon. My Mom is the one who actually came up with monkey time, otherwise Mariah would have acted like that all day! These monkeys remind me of those times. Seems like yesterday and now she's 17, boy how time flies! So, if you have a little "monkey", enjoy every minute of that "monkey time", because those times will be gone before you know it.

So for the card, the base is Yoyo Yellow, with Only Orange embossed with the CB Spots & Dots eb folder, then layered on Basic Black. The "So Very" (from So Very) is stamped on Yoyo Yellow and layered on Basic Black. They monkeys from Zoofari are stamped on Yoyo Yellow, cut out and glued down. The "cute" (from So Very) is stamped with Only Orange on Yoyo Yellow, cut out and mounted on Basic Black punched with the 3/4" Circle Punch. The ribbon is Dippy Dot from Offray.

Blue Man Group!!!

I tried to post the longest video that we took but it was too big to upload, so here are a couple of smaller ones.

video

The funnel is full of guitar picks. We got a few of the guitar picks and Dan got a drum stick. These were the best seats I have ever gotten at a concert. In the video that I couldn't upload, they are standing right in front of us and one of them kept looking straight at my camera. It was cool and odd at the same time!

Hoppy Spring!

This card literally took me hours to finally finish. I started on it last night and it finally came all together late this afternoon. I don't know why, but lately it is taking me way too long to complete something. I had the thought of this card the other day, with the bunny, but my vision had pastel plaid paper and then I realized I didn't have any! I know that I had some at one time, but could not find it. So anyway, this is how it turned out. The card base is Gable Green and then a layer of Pretty in Pink that I embossed with Spots and Dots Cuttlebug folder. I tied a piece of May Arts two toned organdy ribbon (which I absolutely LOVE!!!) around it. The bunny is a Sizzix die-cut that I mounted with dimensionals on a piece of Whisper White that I brayered Gable Green and Ballet Blue on to make the grass and sky, then mounted on So Safron. The basket is a piece of Close to Cocoa that I stamped Canvas BG with the same and then cut out in the basket shape and added the handle. The eggs are really the small balloon from Family Accessories that I stamped on Pretty in Pink and So Saffron CS and cut out. The "hoppy" is from Euphoria Alphabet (retired) in Close to Cocoa and the "Spring" is hand written on Pretty in Pink punched out with the Small Tag Punch and mounted on Gable Green with Large Tag Punch.

I hate my own hand writing, but I don't have any Easter sentiment stamps, so I resorted to hand writing it. I do like how this card eventually turned out. I really like the colors together.

On a different note, Thursday night, Dan and I went to see The Blue Man Group and it was so awesome! We had front row, center stage seats!! We really were lucky! I got about 45 minutes all together on video! I will post part of it tomorrow. The only bad thing is that there was this vulgar man behind us that kept making rude comments, so he's on my video. Don't you hate it when some people don't know how to keep their nasty comments to themselves? I know we were at a rock concert and all, but come on man! Show a little control! Anyway, we still had a blast and it was really awesome! The stuff they come up with is so great!

Until next time....

Hugs and Happy Stampin', ya'll!

I made this card using a sketch found on CafeMom found here. I found this online group a couple of weeks ago and it's great! I'm still new to the group, so I haven't done any swapping yet, but will soon. So about the card... I started with a Close to Cocoa card base and added the strip of Rebecca (retired) DP. The Office Accoutrement flower is stamped on Regal Rose cs with Pink Passion ink and the center is Chocolate Chip with a Fire Brad. I cut the flower out and mounted on the Regal Rose layered on top of Chocolate Chip. The strips are Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose. The sentiment is from two stamp sets just pieced together. I added doodles every where! My favorite thing to do lately! So go check out CafeMom, it's great there!

Until next time, Hugs and Happy Stampin'!
